Tabula Rasa: Introduction to Tahrendra Base

January 17, 2008

Tahrendra+Interior.jpg
Tenton Hammer has published an introduction to a the new instance “Tahrendra Base” which is located in the Mires zone on the planet Arieki. The instance is self-contained, meaning you don’t have to complete any attunement missions to enter it.

“Mission Intel: According to Brann sources, Tahrendra Base was once the landing zone for Brann prisoners, the first stop after leaving Erdas. This seems unlikely as we haven’t seen any indication of landing zones or dropship pads that the Brann would have used. The Bane have overtaken this facility and are using it as their primary staging area for operations on Mires. Sat scan shows a high concentration of energy somewhere deep inside the base. Other intel from Brann allies indicates that at some point an Eloh led an attack on Tahrendra Base, possibly during its initial overthrow by the Bane, but no information on what happened to the Eloh or his forces is available without Top Secret clearance. “

Two more Aion Videos

January 9, 2008

And two more short “Aion: The Tower of Eternity” Clips. Both Videos are about the “Spirit Master” Class. The Spiritmaster’s chief responsibility is to summon and control elemental spirits, powerful forms of nature incarnate. The challenge for the Spiritmaster comes from recognising which element to call on at any given time.

The first video shows the Water-Elemental while the second one shows the Earth-Elemental. I must say, the more footage of this game I get to see, the more interested I become.

Tabula Rasa to feature Clan-PvP

December 11, 2007

For many players of NCSoft’s relatively young Sci-Fi MMO Tabula Rasa, the game has been a bit lacking in the PvP department. Currently, PvP in the Tabula Rasa boils down to Clans camping teleporters and hospitals, slaughtering enemy players while they are still loading. A situation very similar to WoW after the introduction of the “honor” system which Blizzard remedied by introducing the “honorless target” buff.In a speech by given TR Executive Producer and Ultima (Online) Legend, Richard Garriot for the Washington D.C. chapter for the Association of Computer Machinery, he outlined his vision for the future of PvP in the game. Clans will be able to fight for the control of “Capture Points (CP)”. When a clan gains control of a CP it will receive monetary rewards for NPC activity within the CP thus giving players a real incentive for PvP besides from just fighting for the sake of killing.

I wish Blizzard could learn from NCSoft in this regard. BGs are for wussies!
